5 Top Tips for Planning Your Wedding Day
Planning for Your Big Day!
So, they’ve popped the big question and you have said YES! Congratulations!
Once you’ve told all your friends and family its time to start planning your big day. Whilst this is an exciting time, it can seem a little daunting, but don’t worry there are plenty of resources available to help you and your fiancé organise your dream wedding day.
There is no right or wrong way to plan your wedding, as long as you are happy. #YourDayYourWay
To help you plan your ultimate dream wedding here are our five top tips:
1. Time to Get Organised
We all plan in different ways, buying an organiser or wedding notebook can help you keep on top of things. Adding everything from hair appointments to wine tastings and dress fittings to venue appointments it can really help keep you on track.
If you’re a fan of lists, have a look on Pinterest to find a wedding planning checklist.
2. Set a Budget (and try to stick to it)
One of the first things to think about when planning your wedding is the budget. Sit down with your fiancé and discuss how much you want to spend and how much you will be able to save over the coming months. It is also a good time to discuss as a couple the details you want at the wedding and what you will be able to afford.
3. Get Creative
Pinterest is a great place to gather some inspiration for your big day, take a look at our Pinterest board.
Magazines and websites also provide some great ideas and highlight current trends. You can also get creative by picking a theme for your wedding. Your theme doesn’t have to take over the day but perhaps a nice colour scheme or even subtleties which are reflected in your table centre pieces or wedding favours. Having a theme for your wedding may also help you when you come to pick your venue and transport.
4. Picking the Venue (Our favourite part!)
Picking your wedding venue is a magical moment. Perhaps there is a hotel which is of significance to you and your partner or maybe there is a particular location which holds a special memory for you, in which case a marquee might be a perfect fit, to ensure you get to celebrate your big day in your dream spot. Barny Lee Marquees have worked with numerous venues in the South and South West areas and we’d be happy to give you some recommendations: marquee hire services in Cardiff, marquee hire services in London, marquee hire services in Taunton, marquee hire services in Bristol, marquee hire services in Bath, marquee hire services in Somerset, marquee hire services in Exeter, marquee hire services in Devon, marquee hire services in Wiltshire, marquee hire services in Dorset. We of course, have a soft spot for marquees, it’s the perfect blank canvas to put your personality into your wedding day. We don’t just offer marquee hire but also the full service to include furniture, lighting, bars, flooring, toilets and even glamping for your guests at home or at one of these special venues.
5. Create a Schedule of Events for the Big Day
Once you’ve decided on your venue or marquee and are approaching the final stages of planning, it’s never too early to make a schedule for the big day. Not only will this give you and your suppliers something to work from, but it willl remind you if there’s anything you’ve missed. Be sure to give a copy to your photographer, venue and caterers, bridesmaids and musicians – all those who need to be in the know!
