How far in advance do I need to book a marquee?
The summer is always a very busy period for us and often equipment is booked a year or two in advance. Please contact us early to ensure we are able to guarantee availability for your preferred date.
How do I arrange a free site visit?
We always offer an obligation-free site visit to clients, free of charge. This is imperative to assessing what marquee would fit and what will be required. The site visits are usually carried out in the week but can be done on the weekends or evenings by arrangement if required.
Please contact us now to arrange your site visit.
Are the marquees insured for hire?
We strongly recommend that customers insure equipment on hire. Customers are liable for all damages and shortages. We can arrange insurance of all equiptment at an additional cost outlined in out Terms and Conditions. However please note that customers will be liable for the first £250 of any loss or damage to marquees and completely for the loss or damage of moveable items like furniture.
If you decline to pay the insurance fee reasonable proof of insurance cover should be supplied. We cannot accept responsibility for the safety of equipment or customer’s own equipment when stored in the marquees.
What is the smallest marquee you hire?
The smallest marquee we do is a 10’ by 10’ marquee or 3 metre by 3 metre marquee which are often used as entrance porches or as trade stands at shows.
What is the largest marquee you offer?
The largest size individual clear span marquee we have is a 15 metre frame. You can link any number of our marquees together to create any size marquee you require.
When is the marquee put up and taken down?
For a weekend event, the marquees are usually put up on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday and taken down on a Monday. This leaves Friday for decorating, finishing off and delivering any additional equipment. Alternative arrangements can be made if required. Please contact us for further delivery information.
Do I need marquee lining or flooring?
Lining and flooring is purely optional. The marquees can be hired on their own as basic shelter. However the wooden flooring and the carpet keeps the inside of the marquee cleaner and smarter. The linings hide the aluminium frame of the marquee and make it look more special.
Flooring also helps smooth out uneven surfaces like grass, making it easier for guests to move around.
Can you place a marquee on sloped or uneven ground?
The marquees can be put up on slightly sloping ground. The use of wooden flooring can often alleviate uneven ground. Barny Lee Marquees work wonders for clients where flat land is not possible with tried and tested techniques. We will arrange a site visit to select the flattest piece of land available.
Can the marquee be erected on hard surfaces like concrete or tarmac?
Our marquees can be erected on concrete or tarmac however if the surface is too hard to drive stakes in we may have to bolt it down with chemical bolts or weigh the marquee down with water weights.
Can I link the marquee off a building?
Depending on the site a marquee can usually be linked off a building. Please arrange a site visit to assess the options for your event.
What are your payment terms?
Full payment is required when making an order under £500. On orders over £500, 25% of the total cost is payable upon confirmation of the order. The remaining 75% is payable immediately upon delivery and erection of the marquee and/or furniture.
Do you discount for winter bookings or for a long period?
We do offer discounts on marquees in the winter months between October and April or for marquees booked over a long period.
With the use of wooden floors, solid doors and heaters a marquee can be used to excellent effect at any time of years. We can enclose toilets and catering units inside the marquees giving you full protection from the elements if necessary.
