Embracing Spring at Your Wedding or Event

In the UK Spring is a time for change; warmer weather, longer days, flowers begin to bloom and not to mention, the easing of COVID-19 restrictions on weddings and events. It is safe to say Spring is the perfect time to host your celebrations. Whether you’re looking to have a wedding local to your home, or at a beautiful venue that you’ve always had your heart set on we’re here to guide you through some important Spring Wedding tips!

Here are our five top tips on how you can incorporate this beautiful season into your festivities:

1. Incorporate pastel colours

With the blooming of Spring flowers, there are so many beautiful pastel colours to play with and it provides a fresh, seasonal feel to your event. There are also many ways to play around with your pastel flower displays.

You could consider filling rustic crates, milk churns or embrace seasonal blooms into your centre pieces or to dress the back of guest’s chairs.

Pastel colours aren’t just limited to your flower arrangements, these colours can be added to napkins, table decorations and invitations as well as your clothing choices.

2. Bring the outside in

Whilst the weather in Spring is a vast improvement on the months previous, there can still be the odd shower, so why not consider hosting your celebrations in a marquee.

At Barny Lee Marquee’s we offer clear span marquees for hire which allow you to bring the outside in and can even work around lawns, flower beds and even small trees so you can make the most of your beautiful surroundings. We can also help with the decoration, embracing those Spring blooms and beautiful colours.

3. Seasonal and speciality cocktails

Speak to those who are managing the bar at your wedding or event and discuss the option of having a specialty cocktail.

Cocktails and mocktails – for those of us who are driving – are always a welcomed addition but you can embrace Spring by adding some fruity flavours or even adding Spring flowers and berries to your ice cubes or as a garnish. Something a bit different on a warm day.

4. Make use of natural decoration

We love the idea of natural decoration, such as pressed flowers on your wedding invites or wooden centre pieces or even handing out lavender confetti cones to provide a real Spring fragrance. Also, wooden boxes or woven baskets to decorate your reception or event look stunning.

Perhaps you want to provide your guests with flip-flops for when their dancing shoes become too much or blankets in the evening. Why not hide them in discrete boxes or baskets?

5. Add something fun for your guests

Having people outdoors is what Spring is all about, so why not add a few fun games or activities which guests can get involved in? We absolutely love the idea of adding a swing to your outdoor décor. It allows your guests to embrace their inner child and it’s a fun activity at cocktail hour plus, it makes for a great photo opportunity.
